Mark Van Ness is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sperry Van Ness International Inc., one of the leading investment real estate firms based in Southern California.
With offices in Irvine, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Ontario, San Diego, Phoenix and Scottsdale, Van Ness has helped transform the firm into a dominant presence in investment real estate brokerage and is expanding their services to include realty advisors, accelerated marketing, property asset management and leasing, and mortgage services.
Van Ness has 16 years of success as a manager of investment real estate brokers and companies. He has been responsible for closing several million dollars of transactions over the last 20 years. He began his career in 1976 and he quickly became a very successful independent broker and investor. His market foresight and business acumen resulted not only in highly profitable investments for his clients, but a multi-millionaire personal status by his early twenties.
In 1982, Van Ness became Regional Manager for Marcus and Millichap. At age 26, he led the turn-around of their Orange County region from one of their lowest ranking regions up to a leader at number three.
In 1987, Van Ness and Rand Sperry joined forces to create Sperry Van Ness, the fastest growing commercial real estate brokerage firm in the nation, with 847 advisors in more than 100 markets across the country. With prior success as a broker, manager and investor, Van Ness was successful in leading the firm through an aggressive expansion to five regional offices during one of the worst real estate crises of our lifetime.
He has been a principal in over 50 transactions and has successfully invested in every major product type including office buildings, apartments, industrial, shopping centers, and land in Southern California and Arizona. Mark is a native of Southern California, has two daughters, and resides in Corona Del Mar.
